SPOTLIGHT ON TIM SCHULTZ

"I was born in the house my father built.  We were a very poor family.  I was the smallest of four children.  My name is Tim … Tiny Tim" - by Arlen Peter

Hello fellow Heinrich employees.  My name is Tim Schultz; this month's featured spotlight employee.  Heilite staff member Bev Swore approached me and asked if I would be willing to write a little something about myself for this month's newsletter.  I am by no means a writer but Bev said that they wanted someone who has been at Heinrich's for awhile.  I work in the printing department as the lead printer on 1st shift.  I'm 38 years old, married, and have brown hair.  Well, there you have it, all you need to know about me.

I suppose that won't be enough to make the newsletter staff happy so I will try and answer some questions that Bev gave me.  Why did I start working at Heinrich's?  That's a tuff one.  Besides my lifelong dream of working at an envelope manufacturer I guess that I needed a good job to earn a living.  Where was I born and raised?  In a little town in the northeast corner of Iowa called Monona.  What schooling have I had?  I graduated from MFL Community Schools in Monona in 1980.  Then it was on to the big city of Cedar Rapids to earn my associates degree in Graphic Arts at Kirkwood Community College.  What different jobs have I had?  I've done a lot of different jobs including welder, carpenter, forklift drive, and several different kinds of work in the printing field.   What do I like to do in my spare time?  I enjoy spending time with my wife Julie and I like to hunt, fish and work with the youth group at my church.  What are my favorite hobbies or sports?    My all time favorite hobby is turkey hunting and I also enjoy woodworking.  Do I have a funny story from my youth?  Well I'm not even going to try to compete with Arlen on that topic.  What is my outlook on life?  Smile, love, and treat others as I want to be treated.   What was a turning point in my life?  About three years ago I became a Christian and was given a new life through Jesus.  Do I have any favorite books?  Yes, I enjoy reading the bible and books on history.

I really do like working at Heinrich's and after 17 years I think of many of you as family.  I hope that I answered these questions of who I am, and now I look forward to reading all about you!
