Heinrich Envelope Iowa
- The Heinrich Envelope
Company was founded in Minneapolis in 1898 by the Heinrich family. In 1957 our
Boone plant was built to manufacture greeting card envelopes for Hallmark
Greeting Card Company (Kansas City) and other companies. In 1972 this plant
separated from its parent company and became an independent Iowa corporation.
This is the only envelope company owned and operated by members of the original
Heinrich family.
Ward H. Nelson, vice-president, is the great-grandson of John A. Heinrich, the
founder of company. His father, John E. Nelson, is the
president.
-
Since the 1972 separation, Heinrich Envelope, Inc. has diversified into a full
service envelope company. We now offer a complete line of envelopes. We still
manufacture greeting card envelopes, but they make less than 10% of our sales.
We maintain a large inventory and diverse machinery base, we can serve our
markets in Iowa and the surrounding states.
-
- These markets include insurance companies, direct mailers, banks, schools and
private industry.
During the past 28 years we have more than quadrupled our manufacturing
capacity. We can now fold over 4,000,000 envelopes per day, and print them at
any stage of production.

The new millennium finds Heinrich Envelope continuing to grow. By 2001 we plan to
add a new high-speed state of the art folding and printing machine.
